Final Ride

Hola my friend!

Today I read an one-act play by J.M.Synge named "Riders to the Sea". It's a very sorrowful work expressing the fact that each one is born to die one day.

The plot revolves around a mother trying to protect her sixth son from leaving the house. The sea had already devoured her five sons. The loss of the sixth one will leave her and her two daughters manless. Despite the struggle, the son named Bartley sets off to the sea and eventually gets killed by the end of the play. Here's the tragedy written in verse...

Salt tinges in the air,
A voice calls out with care
To save the only one left
And provide him with the best.
The materialistic one didn't care
With countless sorrows shared
During the long gloomy hours
Mourning for the dead flowers.
The impudent chose his fate
To open the awaiting death gate,
Proving no man can live forever,
Leaving the living to be satisfied however.

Happy reading! Adios:)
