Unknotted

Hola my friend!

Friendship - a beautiful, intricate, selfless bond. I hope everyone agrees? Of course, there are also a few who don't! And maybe that's because of your friend who pretended to be one or maybe because of their self-centered personality. But, I would proudly say that God has blessed me with a wonderful set of friends who've been with me through my ups and downs. I've rarely been left alone, and I consider that a blessing:) And when misfortune strikes this beautiful bond, I hold onto the ends of the string trying to connect them together, despite exhausting breakdowns. And that's what makes me 'me' and my key to preserve precious bonds in life.

Thought them unbreakable,
Flexible and safe,
A place called home
My solace and escape.

But my self crumbled,
Upon their alter ego,
Unleashing my inner mind
To accept and move on,
And let go of the aloof gem.

Sadly, deep down I still care,
To mend the broken trust,
Unite the outstretched knot,
And find the same comfort,
Free from delusion,
I once had
With my true allies.

In today's society, there's a false stereotype that prevail among students - "A group of friends who stay together during their fresher year, gradually disintegrate and turn into a handful of them by the final year". I personally consider this a foolish statement. Because I strongly believe that the moment you accept someone as your friend, you become devoted to him/her for the rest of your life, growing together, fighting together, reconciling together, correcting mistakes together and finding the solution to a problem together. This is what I consider the aim or backbone of friendship. If you don't follow this, please don't consider yourself a FRIEND, and I'm sure the stereotype becomes true in your case because you see friendship with an END. So, my friend, who I love the most and is reading this right now, nurture this precious bond in life and never hesitate to talk it out and reconcile. Live as an archetype of a true friend!

Happy reading! Adios:)
