Gym

Hola my friend!

"Chess is the gym of the mind" says Blaise Pascal. This intricate game has amazed me from the very start. The amount of anticipation, surprise, assumption and spontaneity it requires is simply genius.

I've learned to play chess when I was young, but neither racked my brain to make a smart move nor mastered the art. All I could say is, I'm a great spectator! And today I got the chance to spectate various chess matches happening in the Examination Gallery conducted by the Department of Mathematics. I was excited to see my friend, Kathir play it in a meticulous manner. Moreover, each match was special in it's own way. The final match was completely drenched with fierce, as the long battle rose tension in the air. At the end, my friend banged the Chess Championship. I was greatly overjoyed to see my School bestie in such a great position:)

The Chess board opened my mind to the real-time battle of the society. To make it more clear, it potrayed the fight between, say, various political parties or social ideals, etc. Our life is very similar to the battle. We fight for a cause that we consider right. And, as the end result, life is unpredictable and can change within a fraction of second. To barge victory on our side, the essential elements include concentration, focus, unity and hardwork. The Chess board has taught me to keep moving on in life despite the oppositions that rise. I've learnt a greater insight... Have you?

Happy reading! Adios:)
