The Forge
Hola my friend!
Today I had a really fun time in class. I was way more than awake in all the classes. And that was because of the good sleep I had during the past few days which eventually turned up my concentration level.
By noon, our Department's prayer cell "TEFILLAH" got ready to participate in the movie quiz, conducted by the Department of Statistics. The entire team was excited to watch the movie with 100% concentration and bang the prize. A beautiful Christian film called "The Forge" was screened. The story was about a teenager named Isaiah, who turns away from the world and draws more closer to God. The movie beautifully portrays Isaiah's journey to becoming a disciple of the Lord. Here are a few takeaways from the lovely film... famous quotes and the Bible verses mentioned...
Galatians 5: 13,14 says "For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters, only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself."" This was a mind-opening verse that was mentioned by Joshua Moore, the President of Moore Fitness, the company in which Isaiah works. Moore quotes this verse to acknowledge him that he must treat others the same way he wants to be treated. Yet another beautiful line says, "Be a fountain and not a drain. Be someone who gives more and takes less".
Later, Isaiah reads a track called "Roman's Road: A Path to Salvation", where he reads Roman's 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord", Romans 5:8 "But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us" and Romans 10:13 "For, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." We see how Mr.Moore is able to assure his faith in Christ as he says "We are devoted to Jesus. We will do anything he calls us to do", which inturn eventually urges us to reflect Christ through our words.
Isaiah's transformation gives insight to many more verses as in Luke 9:23 "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me" and Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him". We learn how the priority of our living shouldn't be based on our very own pleasings, but rather living a devoted life for Christ. In addition, an essential life skill is taught by Mr.Moore, when you meet someone and greet them, remember two things: you are communicating about yourself to them and reflecting the way you see them, which eventually makes greeting a very significant role.
Then, we see the crucial process in which Isaiah forgives his sinful dad. Isaiah's advised that "God sees everything and he is the only judge. The Lord says "vengeance is mine and I will revenge". Trust your perfect Heavenly father with your earthly dad. Not by feelings, but by choice! Repay no one evil for evil... wait on the lord and he'll deliver you. If you refuse to do so, God will not forgive your sins. Humble yourself under the mighty power of God and give all your worries to him". Following this we see Isaiah's heart-breaking confession prayer. Tears rolled down my eyes as the character himself prayed with a burdened heart. The fogiveness cum love prayer goes like this, "Jesus I give it to you. I choose to forgive! I forgive my dad! Please clean me out. Clean out my heart. God, please bless my mother. Heal her, comfort her, protect her, strengthen her and walk with her because Jesus you know I love her. You've seen what she's done for me, bless her and do what you want to do. I praise you and I worship you Lord. You are my hope, my strength and you are my Father. I give it to you." Amen.
By the end of the movie we see the power of prayers and long-gone prayers being answered. S Ephesians 6 says "The word of the Lord is the sword of the spirit". Through Isaiah, we audience also learn how to lead a godly life. "The longer we try to walk alone, the harder it gets! Don't do it out of pride or stubbornness! If you need help, ask! Eventhough you can stand on your own, we need each other. Honour the Lord and see what he does". The movie became very emotional when the Forge members prayed together for Isaiah to fill him with wisdom and blessings all the days of his life. 'The Forge' ended with a heartfelt message from Matthew 28:18,19 "All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to you. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit."
The movie spoke to me in personal ways. I enjoyed each and every second of the movie. Everyone in the room including me were able to connect with it. It was a happy time under the presence of God. Our prayer cell was also able to bang 2 prizes! And that's how my day at college drew to an end.
Happy reading! Adios:)
